A bright mural stating, "West Chester Recreation is HOT! Drugs are NOT!" marks this small park. It is less than one acre, but has quite a few swings. It also has a large playground structure over woodchips, and two basketball hoops on half-courts. Benches sit in the shade along the outside of the park. While there are no grills here, there are a couple of picnic tables, also in the shade. Across from West Chester University dorms, on the corner of West Nields and South New Street, this park was sometimes referred to as the New Street Playground. The park opened as the Nields Street Park in 1955; the name was later changed.
