Even on a sunny, sultry summer day, there is plenty of shade in Everhart Park. Originally part of Wolerton farm, owned by William Everhart, this ten-acre grove of hardwood trees is a part of West Chester history. These towering trees make for plenty of quiet, cool places to relax in the park. A gazebo, a rustic footbridge and the Children's Summer House also add to the beauty. With several picnic tables and grills, plus plenty of room to spread out, this is a great place for a picnic. Bring a basketball and some friends to enjoy the court, or let the kids run free on the playground, while watching from a bench alongside. There is a paved trail running throughout the park where you just might meet a squirrel or two.
