Located in Madison, Wis., State Bar of Wisconsin is the mandatory professional association, created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court for attorneys who hold a law license in Wisconsin. Founded in 1878, the association is managed and directed by a board of governors. State Bar of Wisconsin has more than 21,000 members and it aids courts in improving the administration of justice. The association provides continuing legal education for its members and assists Wisconsin lawyers in carrying out initiatives to educate the public about the legal system. It has a media center that provides general information about the association. The association participates in a variety of events, such as conferences, media seminars, educational programs and annual conventions.
