Established in 1932, Gardner Dam Scout Camp, also known as GDC, is a patrol cooking camp that is owned and operated by the Boy Scouts of America. GDC offers the Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience program, which includes a series of challenging activities designed to promote group interaction and develop problem solving skills. The camp organizes various activities, such as canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking. It conducts craft workshops in the areas of arts, leather work, basketry and wood carving. Gardner Dam Scout Camp also provides Eagle Challenge, which is a merit badge program for scouts. It additionally offers day, resident and family camping programs. The camp conducts a variety of recreational activities, such as rock climbing, rappelling, sailing, snorkeling and trekking.
