Birkmose Park has some of the most breathtaking views of the St. Croix River available in Hudson. Perched atop a bluff overlooking the the entire river valley, Birkmose Park is a place for quiet contemplation. Picnics and sports aren't allowed in the solemn park, but it's a perfect place to catch up on some reading, get some fresh air, meditate and think. Please be respectful of the Several Indian burial mounds that are surrounded by big, heavy chains.

This nice little park demonstrates the river-lake dichotomy of the MN-WI border. You can appreciate the nature here in a sort of unique geography.

Prospect Park

Prospect Park is perched high atop a bluff overlooking the city. It offers some of the best views in Hudson of the city and the scenic St. Croix River; you can even clearly see Stillwater, Minn., more than 6 miles away. In addition, Prospect Park offers a picnic area, a pavilion with a fireplace, a sand volleyball court, benches, grassy areas and playground equipment. There's also a series of trails that run from Third Street up the side of the bluff to the vantage point.

Arboreta and botanical gardens

Williams Park

Williams Park is on a hill in a residential neighborhood along Laurel Avenue. The park has two areas with different playground equipment and a big, grassy knoll. There are also tables and a small pavilion for picnics. It's a popular place for kids to play, especially on Saturdays. Parking is available just off of Laurel Way and there are restrooms on site.

Burton Field

Burton Field has two baseball fields, a small playground area, restrooms and plenty of grassy space for sports. In the winter Burton Field has a skating rink and warming house.
