Founded in 1924, Booker T. Washington High School consists of departments, such as career and technology education, English, fine arts mathematics, science and social studies. It also operates a grant program that provides students with the extra support and attention they need to complete courses. The school has a library media center that develops strategies to assist learners in the evaluation and utilization of resources, including magazines, newspapers, television, radio transcripts, encyclopedias, investment reports, health, and wellness information and literary criticism. Located in Norfolk, Va., Booker T. Washington High School is a part of the Norfolk Public Schools that serves more than 37,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. The district provides a wide range of core, elective, gifted and special education opportunities.
