Salt Lake Community Action Program is a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of services aimed at helping low-income individuals. It is a group that assesses the needs of the low-income population, mobilizes substantial resources, and develops service delivery systems that address select problems of the low-income population. It also serves as an advocate for populations statewide, for developing laws, regulations, attitudes and social policies in the community. Its services include housing, employment, weatherization, and food and nutrition. It offers various programs, such as advocacy, Fine Alternatives and Faces of the Pacific. It operates Head Start, a comprehensive early childhood development program serving low-income children of ages three through five and their families. The organization was established in 1965 and is located in Salt lake City.
