The Indian Walk-In Center, established in 1974, serves the American Indians and Alaska Natives. Its health services include health promotion and disease prevention education, primary medical care, dental care and prenatal case management. The center s diabetes services include intervention and prevention, educational activities, and nutrition and physical exercise consultations. The Indian Walk-In Center also provides alcohol and substance abuse treatment programs for adults. It employs a youth prevention and education specialist, behavioral health counselor, substance abuse coalition coordinator and health therapist. The Indian Walk-In Center has its administrative office in Salt Lake City.
