Founded in 1975, Juvenile Rights Project is a nonprofit corporation that provides a variety of legal services for children and their families. It offers a range of educational and health care programs for children with mental illnesses and developmental illnesses. The corporation provides legislative advocacy, class representation, administrative, technical assistance and training services. It additionally offers skills development, counseling, consulting, occupational therapy and foster care services. The corporation is funded through contracts, grants, donations and attorney fee awards, as well as by the Oregon Public Defenses Services Commission and Campaign for Equal Justice. Juvenile Rights Project is located in Portland, Ore.
