Established in 1965, the Workers' Compensation Board is an independent agency that operates under the government of the state of Oregon. It works to provide resolution of disputes that arise under the Workers' Compensation Law and the Oregon Safe Employment Act. The Workers' Compensation Board operates through administrative services, hearings and board review divisions. The board s administrative services division performs computer, digital recording and docketing services. It reviews workers' compensation orders on appeal, exercises own-motion jurisdiction and reviews claim disposition agreements. The board also resolves disputes between workers and workers' compensation carriers that arise from workers' civil actions against allegedly liable third parties. The Workers' Compensation Board is staffed by more than five full-time members.
