Established in 1980, the Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) provides a variety of services and programs for individuals. The center employs more than 35 full- and part-time individuals and over 100 volunteers. It administers an abuse and rape crisis program that includes crisis and support services, for individuals. Additionally, it provides refuge and housing assistance for adults with disabilities and at-risk children influenced by family violence and sexual assault. In addition, the center supports a crime victim witness program that includes court advocacy services for people with personal injuries and the victims of property-related crimes, including assault, stalking and burglary. The Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC) also administers prevention and education, domestic violence offender treatment and child visitation programs. The center maintains a location in Grand Forks, N.D.
