The Village Lutheran Church, one of the largest Lutheran churches in the Atlantic District, is located on White Plains Road in Bronxville, near Concordia College.
Founded in 1914, the VLC was affiliated with Concordia College until 1941. The following year, it began to serve the needs of the community at large, eventually making its home in its present-day location. Expansion of both the church and congregation continued throughout the coming decades.
Today VLC offers a variety of programs and services for its members, including bible classes, choirs, prayer services, social ministries and youth groups. In addition, the church has a bookshop that sells Christian books, CDs and DVDs and holds the Good News Christian Coffee House, a monthly event with live Christian music.
Rev. Dr. Robert Hartwell is the Senior Pastor.
