The New York City District Council of Carpenters is a representative body comprised of more than 21,000 union members. It operates labor management, political action, organizing, and benefits and wages departments. The council represents floor coverers, cabinet makers, millwrights, dock builders and residential carpenters. The New York City District Council of Carpenters members include the New York Union Carpenters Motorcycle Riding Club, United American-Euro Club and Carpenters Latino Club. It maintains Labor Technical College, which is a training center that conducts training for over 1,700 registered apprentices. Additionally, the New York City District Council of Carpenters administers various anticorruption and antiharassment programs.
