Created in 2002, East Midtown Partnership promotes local commerce and quality of life of its 48-block district. Based in New York, N.Y., the partnership is one of the largest of New York City's 64 business improvement districts (BIDs) with about 2,700 businesses and more than 28,000,000 square feet of commercial space. It works under contract with the City's Department of Small Business Services. Some of the programs East Midtown Partnership organizes include marketing, streetscape improvement, homeless outreach, traffic management and ombudsman services.
