The Richfield Dual Language School is located in the Elliot Education Center, next to the Richfield S.T.E.M. School campus. The school was opened for the 2007-08 school year as a two-way immersion school that works with both native English and Spanish speaking students. Kids begin at this school as kindergartners and will continue through to 5th grade. Kindergarten is almost entirely in Spanish and as the kids move through the grades, teachers begin to use English more. The school's goal is to turn out well-educated and bilingual students. Hopefully, other Richfield schools will eventually have an immersion strand to keep these students learning. Currently the school runs to 3rd grade, but will be a K-5 institution by fall 2012.
