Normandale Elementary School is one of six elementary schools in the Edina School District, serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. While it offers the same curriculum as the rest of the district, Normandale differentiates itself by offering a French immersion program. Curricular content is solely presented in French until the third grade, when formal English instruction begins. Normandale is located in the same building as the Edina Community Center and the Edina School District administrative offices, next to South View Middle School and Kuhlman Stadium. Students who elect to enroll in the French immersion program automatically make the transition from Normandale to Valley View Middle School, where they continue to receive a dual education in French and English.
