History
The group started as a flying club, restoring to flight a vintage WWII bomber, the Yankee Lady. Over the years, many other planes were added to the collection. Most of these were lost in a 2004 fire, except for a B-17, a B-25, and a C-47 Transport. These planes continue to fly yearly to airshows around the midwest. Plans are in development for a new museum complex located at the Willow Run Airport, site of the Henry Ford B-24 Bomber plant.
Specialties
We are the home for one of the last flying B-17's in the country. We also fly a B-25 bomber and a C-47 transport to many airshows. Our Exhibits building houses many static airplanes, a WWI Spad, and makes tribute to the Willow Run B-24 Bomber plant and Henry Ford's contribution to WWII!
