The Melvindale Housing Commission (MHC) is a public housing commission established in 1977 by the City of Melvindale in Wayne County, Michigan. With a commitment to creating and preserving affordable housing, MHC currently serves nearly 350 low-income households through its various programs, including the Housing Choice Voucher program and the recently renovated Coogan Terrace apartment community.
Supported primarily by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), MHC operates independently and is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners. Through innovative programs, partnerships, and effective stewardship, MHC strives to meet the diverse needs of Wayne County residents while fostering a respectful and supportive work environment.
