History
The Meraki Center was started at a music therapy clinic. Over time, it has evolved to include piano lessons, adaptive piano lessons and group piano lessons. To be a good piano teacher, one must teach to the child - it is not a one-size-fits-all kind of experience.
Specialties
The Meraki Center specializes in piano lessons and music therapy for children. How are we different? At The Meraki Center, we aren't just music teachers, we are music therapists, with considerable experience in child development. When did you last meet a child who learned just like every other child? Never, right? Then why would you hire a piano teacher who taught all kids the same? We have a whole toolbox up our sleeves to motivate and inspire our students, blowing the lid off 'same tricks-every child' teaching. Our weekly hour-long group lessons bring 4 children together to work on age-appropriate social skills while learning piano. We incorporate high-quality keyboards, games, iPad learning apps and conversation. Students are surprised when told the lesson is over. We even hear moans of, 'Really? Can we stay a little longer?' Wouldn't you want to hear Your Child saying that at piano lessons? In addition, we hold music therapy sessions by appointment.
