Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1994. He went on to earn his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University in 1998. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he remained to complete fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He joined Louisiana Cardiology Associates in 2005 as part of our growing number of electrophysiologists. Along with these physicians, he has spearheaded the development of the Heart Rhythm Center, a division of Louisiana Cardiology Associates, which focuses specifically on comprehensive treatment of electrophysiology-related heart disease. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
