The Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation, also known as SIHF, is a community-based organization. Founded in 1985, it operates more than 20 health care centers and offers community outreach programs in Illinois. The nonprofit organization serves underinsured and medically underserved residents. The Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation also provides health education programs. It has a staff of over 1,000 individuals. In addition, the organization offers patient support, migrant health, dentistry and transportation services. The Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation provides the Healthy Start program. It operates a regional medical facility, Touchette Regional Hospital. The organization also specializes in internal medicine and family practice.
