History
Brave Initiatives was born in April of 2015 and launched it's first camp in August of 2015. The program was developed by it's three Co-Founders, Emily Harburg, Anna Bethune and Jen Kamins, who have worked incredibly hard to make the program what it is today. Check out their website to learn more about Brave and how it came to be.
Specialties
Brave Initiatives works with high school girls all over the city of Chicago. We accept applications January - May for our 1-week summer camps that focus on design thinking, coding and leadership development. We are looking for girls who want to be the next change-makers in their neighborhoods or are interested in learning more about web and app development. During the school year we host monthly workshops to develop diverse skill sets and dive deeper into personal development. Brave Initiatives is a non-profit organization and aims to send every student to camp for free! To do so we rely on donations from local companies as well as individuals. Please check out our site to see how you can support our girls.
