Founded in 1981, Baker Demonstration School is a coeducational school in North Shore. It serves toddler through eighth grade students. The school campus features a library housing 24,000 volumes, dual-platform technology/media labs, computer interactive white boards in all classrooms, a performance hall, an art studio, a drama studio, a music studio, a natatorium and a gymnasium. Baker Demonstration School also features a 14,000-square-foot athletic field designed specifically for daily physical education, after-school sports practice, games and mid-day recess. The school has an ongoing academic affiliation with National-Louis University's National College of Education and is a member of the Lake Michigan Association of Independent School. It also is a provisional member of the Independent Schools Association of Central States.
