Women's Funding Alliance envisions a world where all women and girls are thriving in a just and equitable society and have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential. Since 1983, Women's Funding Alliance ( WFA ) has been promoting community health and vitality by investing in opportunities for women and girls. We know the well-being of women and girls often indicates a healthy society. When women and girls thrive, our entire community benefits. A Closer Look is a landmark, in-depth study that looks at the quality of life of women and girls in King, Pierce, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties. Social change philanthropy is distinguished from other forms of grantmaking by the central tenet that philanthropy's success is measured not only by where the money is given, but also the process by which it is given. Women's Funding Alliance ( WFA ) was formed in 1983 as a way to enable women's and girls' organizations to raise money through workplace giving campaigns. WFA became the second women's federation in the country and one of the first alternative workplace giving options in the Northwest. "There is a credibility factor ( of being affiliated with WFA ) that is importantto the extent that services for girls and women are under funded in this community, we need a specialized funder."
