Deborah Clark is the Supervisor of Elections and oversees voting throughout Pinellas County. She was appointed to the position in 2000 by Gov. Jeb Bush.
There are 603, 370 registered voters in the county.
The supervisor also has a Voter Outreach Department that has public demonstrations of the optical scan voting system. The Florida Legislature ruled that all Florida voters must use paper ballots with optical scan voting systems starting July 1, 2008.
The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections offers three $1,200 college scholarships to eligible college juniors and seniors majoring in political science, public administration, business administration, journalism or mass communications.
