Emmy Crouter PLLC and LCSW is a professionally trained therapist, self-identified feminist, and recovering perfectionist. She pulls from her experiences to help guide people, but with the belief that true work is done internally by patients in integrating what is done in therapy. She became a therapist somewhat by design and somewhat by accident. As a sociology major in college, Emmy was fascinated by the ways in which our environment influences the concept of self, others, and the world. While volunteering at a shelter for domestic violence survivors, she coincided with a pro bono therapist who was also volunteering her time. The shift this person helped clients make was palpable.
