History
Deane Crockett met the Christensen brothers, in Utah and studied and danced around the country with them as they all honed their art. They were influenced by Mikhail Mordkin, Enrico Cecchetti and George Balanchine. Barbara Crockett moved from Fresno to San Francisco to study ballet and was ultimately influenced by the same methods and styles as her soon-to-be husband, Deane. Both danced and taught at San Francisco Ballet. From these multi layers of experience, Deane and Barbara Crockett traveled to Sacramento to begin their own tradition of teaching. From all their knowledge and experiences, they developed their own syllabus. It consists of elements of RAD, Cecchetti, and Vaganova which they believed, if put together, would become a strong teaching system. Their goal was to turn out well-rounded and capable dancers. This system has produced many success stories whatever the chosen path the young dancer may follow.
