History
Elk have been migrating from the high country to the Jackson Hole Valley for century's. The US Fish and Wildlife Service established The National Elk Refuge in 1912 to give the elk a place to winter. So many people wanted to see the elk up close that by 1965 sleigh rides were established so that anyone that wanted to learn about the refuge and see the elk could go for a sleigh ride.
