Fremont County Jail, founded in 2001, is a part of the New Fremont County Corrections and Sheriff's Administration facility. The jail is a correctional institution, and is located in Lander, Wyo. The Fremont County Sheriff's Department provides law enforcement service to the citizens of Fremont County, Wyo., by promoting a safe community. It also provides dispatch services to several departments, including Lander Police Department, Shoshoni Police Department, Fremont County Ambulance and Fremont County Fire Department. The Fremont County Sheriff's Department also offers dispatch services to various fire departments, such as Lander Valley, Missouri Valley, Midvale, Lysite and Moneta area and Shoshoni Fire Department. It also offers its services to other departments, including the Detention Center, Communications 911 Center, Patrol, Search and Rescue and Missing Persons.
