HistoryKnights Upholstery Incorporated is a full service, custom interior and manufacturing upholstery shop. Our headquarters is in Marinette, WI. We got our start customizing cars back in the 90's in Detroit, Michigan. A design firm that leased its technologies to Ford, GM, and Chrysler requested some modified seats to be custom tailored. Side impact airbags didn't exist, yet... We made several leather covers for a new prototype armrest design. They tested the covers by blowing up the airbag that was in the armrest! Eventually we patterned the component so the stitched seam would release the airbag evenly, in the same place, every time. The big three automakers must have liked it, because you can't buy a new car without side airbags anymore. Our field of service has grown extensively in the past 25 years.
