Marilyn Townsend is an experienced attorney who has successfully represented clients in employment discrimination, as well as retaliation cases. After an employer refused to pay a judgment obtained in a retaliation case, Ms. Townsend filed a garnishment lawsuit. Ms. Townsend successfully collected over $200,000 and the Judgment was satisfied in 2014. She is a volunteer attorney for two legal aid clinics, the Veterans' Law Center, and an Unemployment Compensation clinic. Since 2012, she also serves as a Municipal Court Judge. She writes the Annual Update on Unemployment Insurance Law, for the State Bar of Wisconsin. She speaks to legal and community organizations on employment law topics including, Nondiscriminatory Job Interviews; Sexual Harassment; Pay Equity; Drug and Alcohol Testing; The Americans with Disabilities Act; the Wisconsin Family and Medical Leave Act.
