Founded By Mervin and Evelyn Vatland as Electronics Associates in 1966, they moved to 1828 W. Wisconsin Ave, the present location of Muntz Audio-Video and changed the store name to Sound World. The business grew to one of the largest stereo stores in the Northeast Wisconsin and in 1978 Sound World moved to their present location at 3015 W. Wisconsin Ave. In 1992 they added the name "Audio - Video Lifestyles which became the "Custom Home" division of Sound World which installs and designs whole house audio and video, home automation and lighting control for remodeling or building a home. Sound World is still family owned and operated by David Vatland who continues to advance the store into this digital age of audio and video.
