Sheboygan Area Community Recreation Department, founded in 1927, offers a wide variety of leisure time facilities and activities for people of all ages in Sheboygan, Wis. Various sports offered by the department include baseball, basketball, cross-country, skiing, gymnastics, hockey, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, and wrestling. The community recreation program has access to more than four indoor pools at North High, South High, James Madison Elementary school and Central Support Facility, and offers aquatic programs for ages 6 months to adult. It also offers kickboxing, yoga, aerobics, swimnastics and arthritis aquatics. Sheboygan Area Community Recreation Department also offers a variety of special services, including child care services, picnic kit and swimming pool rental, use of school gyms and other facilities, tennis court reservations, group picnic activity, instructional video tapes and coaches training. The department is part of the Sheboygan Area School District, and is supported by Board of Education and the Recreational Advisory Council.
