Timothy M. Axe, DPM
Dr. Timothy Axe graduated from the University of Toledo with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then attended the University of Toledo Graduate School to study Exercise Physiology. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree with honors from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He was also the recipient of the Highest Proficiency in Scholarship award. He then completed his residency in Podiatric Surgery at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center – Westside in Chicago. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at the Foot & Ankle Center, Oak Lawn, IL. Dr. Axe is board certified in foot surgery and a diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Axe is the former assistant residency director of the Podiatric Surgical Residency at the Jesse Brown VAMC in Chicago, IL. He has served as the chairman of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association committee on the diabetic foot. He has lectured nationally and is a published author on diabetic wound infections and podiatric surgery. As a podiatrist, he focuses on surgical and non-surgical management of disorders of the foot and ankle with an emphasis on midfoot and forefoot surgery, laser surgery, sports medicine, trauma/fracture management, sprains/strains, soft issue and bone infections, and deformity corrections including bunions and hammertoes. Dr. Axe has a particular interest in managing diabetic foot wounds/ulcers. Dr. Axe is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the Wisconsin Podiatric Medical Association. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the SSM Health St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital Foundation.
