HistoryThe Heel Health Shoe Store is owned and operated by Troy Dempsey, American Board Certified Pedorthist. A credentialed pedorthist is a specialist in using footwear - which includes shoes, shoe modifications, foot orthoses and other pedorthic devices - to solve problems in, or related to, the foot and lower limb. Troy completed his pedorthic training at Northwestern University in Chicago and became board certified by The American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics. The Heel also has a team of 4 trained shoe experts. A large part of our business is helping people who are suffering with foot pain, hip and/or back pain by fitting them with healthy footwear. While it may seem as though we are strictly orthopedic, the reality is that we offer a great selection of fashion forward, quality, healthy footwear from companies like Birkenstock, Dansko, Naot, & Finn Comfort.SpecialtiesThe Heel is focused on carrying the highest quality, healthy footwear.
