Sandy Ryan knows a thing or two about learning to play a new instrument. "I was trained as a singer, but I had to learn piano out of necessity so I could accompany myself."
Now the owner of Music Dynamics of Sussex and an instructor herself, Ryan has been passing on her love f0r music with the community for almost ten years. She stresses her company is not a school, but rather a music emporium that offers lessons in piano, voice, flute, strings, brass and drums to all ages and abilities.
Both group and private lessons are taught by independent, contracted teachers who work on-site. Ryan adds, "We strive to meet students where they're at with regard to ability and interest. We don't work from a curriculum, rather we teach the music that the student is interested in playing."
The studio is welcoming and professional, with brightly-painted walls, distinguishing plaques and a bulletin board featuring current students and their accomplishments. Music Dynamics holds its own recitals on-site, with the back room converting into a performance hall. Early-childhood programs are also available.
