Madison Gas and Electric, headquartered in Madison, Wis., is an electric power generation company that has been operational for more than 100 years. It generates and distributes electricity to more than 135,000 customers in Dane County, Wis. The company provides electricity to the southern Wisconsin municipalities of Monona, Middleton, Cross Plains and Fitchburg counties. Additionally, Madison Gas and Electric operates various electric generation power plants, such as the Blount Station, the West Campus cogeneration facility, and combustion turbines and solar units in Madison, Wis. The company also operates the Columbia Energy Center in Portage, Wis., and natural gas combustion turbines in Marinette, Wis. It additionally provides natural gas to the residents of Columbia, Crawford, Juneau, Monroe and Vernon counties in Wisconsin. Madison Gas and Electric distributes electricity to residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
