Noted as one of the most iconic stadiums in the National Football League, Lambeau Field is home to the Green Bay Packers. Over its 50-plus years, the stadium has seen plenty of historic moments and great players. Though the stadium is mostly used for football, Lambeau Field has hosted concerts in recent years.
Lambeau Field Parking
Parking in the stadium lots is limited to season ticket holders and recreational vehicles, so most individuals coming for a single game will have to park in other places around the neighborhood. Some popular options include at the Resch Center and the Brett Favre Steakhouse, but also include small businesses and homes in the area. Prices commonly run around $20-25.
Hotels near Lambeau Field
There are many hotels in Green Bay, but rooms go fast once the NFL schedule is released or a major concert is announced. Even more, prices in town can run around $200 per night. For a cheaper alternative, nearby cities like Appleton, Oshkosh and Manitowoc have cheaper rooms if you are willing to drive 30-60 minutes.
Seating at Lambeau Field
The bowl seating configuration makes most every seat in Lambeau Field a great view. Endzone seats will be less expensive, but sideline seats are more family-friendly and provide the best sight lines during games. All bowl seats are bleachers, so make sure to bring a seating cushion without pockets (stadium security policy), while the upper-level seats (300-level and higher) have chair backs.
Food at Lambeau Field
In addition to the usual stadium foods like burgers and brats, Lambeau Field has a few unique options like the Horse Collar (a 22-inch sausage with sauerkraut and beer cheese sauce) and the Brat'chos (a brat topped with chips, jalapenos, sauerkraut, sour cream and beer cheese sauce). For the most affordable options, go to The Meat Packing Co. or Green Bay's Gridiron Grill located throughout the concourse.
Beer at Lambeau Field
Miller is the primary beer in the stadium and stands/carts are available also everywhere in the concourse. Other brands include Leinenkugel's, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Hamms. Prices will run $7-9.
Parking Alternatives at Lambeau Field
The Green Bay Metro bus system offers an extensive route tree that runs five hours prior to the game until three hours after the game. Routes go to all areas of the city and are free. Taxis are also available for a more direct option.
What to Bring to Lambeau Field
Be sure to bring a seat cushion if you sit in the main bowl of the stadium, but it cannot have any pockets due to security rules. In August and September, a light jacket will do. However, as the weather gets colder, bundle up accordingly, as temperatures regularly reach 20 degrees Fahrenheit or lower in December.
Insider Tip for Lambeau Field
Traffic around the stadium is busy for several hours before and after events, so plan to arrive early and stay late. There is plenty to do in the Lambeau Field Atrium (including shopping and restaurants), so take some time to check these out.
