House in the Wood Camp is a resident co-ed summer camp serving urban children from Chicago. Its campers range from ages seven through twelve with a leadership program for its thirteen to seventeen year olds that represent a cross section of Chicago s diverse population. In addition to enjoying the camps outdoor and waterfront programs, the campers learn a variety of essential social and living skills. Northwestern University Settlement in Chicago, Ill., operates House in the Wood. During the off-season, the camp operates as a conference and retreat center.
