Welcome to the official Pleasant Prairie Web site. Although this is a new Web site for the Village, it will continue to grow and accommodate the needs of the wonderful citizens of our Village and many others who may visit the site from time to time. I encourage you to visit the site often and see the new updates and enhancements that will be added. The Village of Pleasant Prairie is a progressive municipality offering an array of residential, recreational, commercial, and industrial opportunities. The Village strives to provide the best quality of life for our citizens at the most affordable tax rate possible. In 2004 the Village was honored to have the lowest mill rate for property tax purposes of any municipality in the 15, 000 to 30, 000 population range in the State of Wisconsin. The Village Board of Trustees has strived to provide a professionally managed and well-planned municipality that represents a harmonious balance between residential, commercial, manufacturing, conservancy, and agricultural land uses. The Village of Pleasant Prairie offers comprehensive municipal services such as a professional full-time police department, professional fire department that provides paramedic rescue services, engineering and public works, a sewer and water utility, professional office of planning and development, and administrative services for the Village of Pleasant Prairie. To enhance and promote the quality of life in the area of recreation ; Prairie Springs Park was developed as a cornerstone of our Village, hosting many family-friendly festivals and events each year such as Prairie Family Days, Danskin Women's Triathlon that raises money to fight breast cancer, the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon that raises money for recreation programs for children with special needs, and more. Within this 425-acre park is Lake Andrea, a 100-acre spring-fed lake, surrounded by a 2.3-mile paved trail, perfect for walking, jogging, bicycling, or in-line skating. Also located in Prairie Springs Park is southeastern Wisconsin's largest multi-purpose indoor recreation facility: LakeView RecPlex. Our citizens and their guests enjoy an Aquatics Center, Field House, Fitness Center, and a suspended Walking/Jogging Track. RecPlex underwent a significant expansion in 2004, adding more workout areas and classrooms, racquetball courts and party rooms. Also new in 2004 is the Village of Pleasant Prairie's newest attraction - the Pleasant Prairie IcePlex. Featuring two NHL-size ice rinks, the IcePlex offers year-round fun and entertainment for all ages. Youth and adult hockey and skating programs, tournaments and competitions, and of course, leisure skating will offer families a unique and fun way to spend quality time together.Pleasant Prairie is also the address of more than 80 outstanding corporations, such as Hospira, Cherry Electric, Snap-on Tools, Rust-oleum, Lawter International, Yamaha, Volkswagen, Albany-Chicago, Sanmina, Supervalu Great Lakes Distribution Center, and We Energies Pleasant Prairie Power Plant.
