The Green Bay Education Association ( GBEA ) is a professional organization of approximately 1, 800 educators working in the Green Bay Area Public School District. The GBEA represents the public policy, labor and professional interests of its members. The GBEA is a strong advocate for the nearly 20, 000 children in the Green Bay public schools. The GBEA is also an affiliate of the Wisconsin Education Association Council ( WEAC ), based in Madison, Wisconsin, which represents nearly 92, 000 Wisconsin educators. Through WEAC, our members are also affiliated with the National Education Association ( NEA ) located in Washington D.C., which has more than 2.3 million members. Both organizations provide members with legislative support, leadership opportunities, and legal resources. The Green Bay Education Association, a union of professional educators, provides avoice for its members through collective bargaining, representation of its members, political action, organizational activities and public relations. The GBEA promotes quality education in Green Bay by working to create a safe, positive educational environment in the public schools and the community. From Madison and the Fox Valley: Take Hwy. 41 North to the Highway 172 exit. Follow 172 EAST to the second exit across the river, Hwy. GV. Exit on Hwy. GV, then turn LEFT ( north ) on GV ( Monroe Road ). GV/Monroe Road continues to a traffic light ( Allouez Avenue-Olson Sales is on the right ), where it becomes Lime Kiln Road. Go straight at the traffic light. Follow Lime Kiln Road past a large packing house ( Packerland Packing ). You will go up a SMALL hill ; as you come down the hill, there is a right turn ( only ). This is Manitowoc Road ; turn right onto Manitowoc Road, follow it as it winds for mile or so. You will come to a stop sign at a frontage road. GBEA's office is just to the right-turn onto the frontage road, and into our parking lot.
