The Everest Metro Police Department works to safeguard the lives and property of residents, businesses and visitors, as well as maintains social law and order. It is comprised of more than 20 sworn officers and personnel. The department has a communication center that responds to calls and dispatches personnel for police and fire emergency and nonemergency services. The Everest Metro Police Department supports Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.), which is a school-based educational program that is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence and gang activities. It also conducts neighborhood watch, child safety seat inspection and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) programs. In addition, the department supports the Crime Stoppers program, which seeks to identify criminals through citizens involvement. The Everest Metro Police employs several school resource officers and offers a fingerprint identification program.
