EPIC Specialty benefits started off selling medical, life and short-term disability insurance to small groups and then moved on to introduce community-based health insurance plans. In 1995, EPIC decided to exit the health market and focus on non-medical insurance products. From 2000-2004, EPIC retooled it's product offering to include group life, disability, dental and vision insurance products. In 2009, EPIC became licensed in 27 states and received at least a 97% customer satisfaction rate for the fifth consecutive year. EPIC then introduced the industry leading short-term disability plan - Rap Pay Income Replacement Plan, and grew from 15 to 33 employees.
