N.E.W. Curative Rehabilitation assists people who are elderly, have disabilities or a special need to achieve independence. The organization provides rehabilitative services, work training and elderly services in northeast Wisconsin. N.E.W. Curative Rehabilitation was founded in 1948 as Curative Workshop. In the 1970s, work training services and adult day services were added. In the 1980s, services were started for survivors of traumatic brain injury, and an adult day program was started for people with Alzheimer s. N.E.W. Curative Rehabilitation assists more than 2,500 individuals each year achieve independence. The organization has more than 30 programs administered both on-site and throughout the community.
