History
Potters Tom and Diana Johnston have enjoyed making pottery together for over 30 years, producing a wide variety of functional items for daily use. Each doing their own part in the process. Throwing on the wheel, rolling slabs, hand building, making glazes and firing the pots. Their joint effort combine to make each piece individual. After the Johnston's opened their first gallery, Johnston Gallery, in the downtown of Mineral Point in 1989 they decided to open up their studio to the public and create a second gallery space. The Brewery Pottery Studio was born in 1996. It's a first hand look at a working pottery studio in a old 1850's limestone Brewery. The old brewery tucked in a hillside on the edge of Mineral Point is open open daily 10-5, April through December.
