The Bank of Wisconsin Dells was chartered on Feb. 10, 1910, operating as the Farmers & Merchants State Bank. In 1944, Farmers & Merchants State Bank took over the assets of Kilbourn State Bank, an institution established in 1884. In June of 1969, the name was changed to Bank of Wisconsin Dells. The Lake Delton branch was opened in 1968, while the Community Bank of Portage branch opened in 1996.
