The Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) at the University of Wisconsin Madison is dedicated to supporting the success of students in the College of Letters and Science. Through initiatives such as the Summer Collegiate Program, the L S STEM Scholars Initiative, and the CAE Cohort program, CAE provides an inclusive and enriching community for students from low-income or rural backgrounds, as well as those who are the first in their family to attend college. With a range of services including academic advising, learning support, peer mentoring, and connection to learning communities, CAE aims to facilitate learning, collaboration, and holistic student development.
CAE also offers high-impact learning experiences and leadership opportunities on campus, helping students make the most of their Wisconsin Experience at UW-Madison. Programs such as the Summer Collegiate Experience provide first-year students with a six-week residential summer program that includes degree credit courses, registration for fall courses, and an introduction to campus resources and culture. Additionally, CAE supports students in their career and graduate school preparation, as well as providing health and wellness events and social activities. Through its commitment to student success, CAE strives to create a supportive and empowering environment for all L S students at UW-Madison.
