PACE Federal Credit Union is located in Huntington, West Virginia. It was chartered 14 October 1956 to serve the employees of the U. S. Army, Huntington District, Corps of Engineers. ( PACE is the acronym for Personnel, Army, Corps of Engineers. ) Over the years, the area of membership has expanded to include the employee's spouse, their children, and any family member, either by blood or marriage. PACE Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned, controlled, and operated for the benefit of its members in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Credit Union members join together to build long-term financial stability and provide high quality, low cost financial services. A Board of Directors is elected from the membership by the members and has the general direction and control of the credit union affairs. It sets the policy under which the officers, committees, and employees operate. A three member Supervisory Committee is appointed by the Board of Directors to audit internal affairs. Outside audits of the credit union are performed annually by the West Virginia Credit Union League Services and the National Credit Union Administration, a federal agency.
