Joan C. Edwards Stadium is a stadium located in Huntington, West Virginia on the campus of Marshall University. Joan C. Edwards Stadium currently houses the NCAA team the Marshall Thundering Herd. The stadium opened as Marshall University Stadium on September 7, 1991 with the construction taking just over one year at a cost of just over $30 million, $50.6 million in present day dollars. The latest renovation was in 2000, which added over 6,000 seats.
The Marshall Thundering Herd are members of the C-USA Conference of the within National Collegiate Athletic Association. They are known by their team colors consisting of green and white. Their mascot is Marco the Buffalo. Past players include Daniel Baldridge, Vinny Curry and Lee Smith.
The stadium currently holds 38,019 fans. Currently, it is the 84th largest stadium in the NCAA. The record fan attendance of 41,382 occurred on September 10, 2010 against West Virginia. In terms of parking there is on-campus parking and satellite parking lots both containing general and reserved spots.
Season tickets are available with prices starting around $130. Individual tickets start at about $25 depending on the game. Tickets are available through the team website and ticket exchanges.
