Shepherd University
Shepherd University is a state-supported institution within the West Virginia system of higher education. One of the oldest universities in the United States, SU has been operational for more than 100 years. The university offers baccalaureate degrees and credit courses in a wide range of fields, including liberal and fine arts, business administration, teacher education, social and natural sciences, and other career-oriented areas. It has been approved by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, Council on Social Work Education, National Association of Schools of Music, and National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Located in Shepherdstown, W.Va., the university enrolls more than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. Additionally, it provides majors in hospitality and tourism management, media studies, licensed practical nursing, continuing education, accounting, chef apprenticeship, food service management, office administration and systems technology, and paralegal studies.
